PROJECT "GET UP, STAND UP, BE HEALHTY GUYS!"

What is Get up, stand up, be healthy guys?
It is a project was financed under the EU Youth in Action, aims to promote healthy lifestyle, the recovery of the outdoor activities of a long and healthy recipes of Georgia, Armenia, Portugal, Italy and Greece. Was held between 22 to 29 July 2013 San Cesario di Lecce

Who promoted it?
VulcanicaMente, an Association of social promotion that among the different purposes promotes intergenerational and intercultural dialogue in a perspective of growth and mutual exchange, in partnership with four European Associations.

Who participated in?
Specifically to take part in the project were 20 young people aged 18 to 25 years and 5 group leader of the partner associations:

VulcanicaMente (Italy)
Youthfully yours(Greece)
Alinhas, Associação Desportiva Juvenil (Portugal)
Agate” Center for women with special needs NGO (Armenia)
Academy for peace and development(Georgia)

What happened?
Participants came together in San Cesario di Lecce for a week where they participated in activities with the method of non-formal. Specifically young people have recovered the games and traditional recipes of the past of their countries and of Salento through intergenerational dialogue, they have actively participated in outdoor activities. At the end of the exchange it has been prepared a booklet called "Games and recipes beyond barriers and time" as a technical tool for youth workers and as dissemination of the results of the exchange.
​Citizenship has been involved in moments of intergenerational and intercultural dialogue during the discovery activities of the games of the past through interaction with the local community.
Once back in their countries, the participants released the results of the project and have proposed a follow-up of the same.
